Professional Background

Hernan completed a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) at University College Dublin, graduating with First Class Honours (1:1). During his studies, he was awarded the Bank of Ireland Finance Medal (Gold Medal) for achieving the highest academic performance in Stage 2 at the UCD Sutherland School of Law.

Hernan has experience working with undergraduate law students. After graduating, he worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UCD, delivering tutorials and small-group sessions focused on core subjects and exam preparation. In this role, he supported students in developing a strong understanding of fundamental legal concepts and building effective legal analysis techniques that stay with them throughout their studies and into their future careers.

He is currently working as a legal assistant and is also Joint Editor-in-Chief of the UCD Law Review.
