Message from Hernan
“One of the most challenging things about pursuing a law degree is the all-or-nothing approach of the curriculum. When a single exams or assignment is worth 100% of their grade, students often feel unsure about themselves. My classes are focused on providing students with the tools and techniques to both understand the fundamentals and engage with the law on a deeper level. “
Professional Background
Hernan completed a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) at University College Dublin, graduating with First Class Honours (1:1). During his studies, he was awarded the Bank of Ireland Finance Medal (Gold Medal) for achieving the highest academic performance in Stage 2 at the UCD Sutherland School of Law.
Hernan has experience working with undergraduate law students. After graduating, he worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UCD, delivering tutorials and small-group sessions focused on core subjects and exam preparation. In this role, he supported students in developing a strong understanding of fundamental legal concepts and building effective legal analysis techniques that stay with them throughout their studies and into their future careers.
He is currently working as a legal assistant and is also Joint Editor-in-Chief of the UCD Law Review.
